"Yup," agreed Ben. "That it was."
"Of course, there's always a surprisingly disappointing ending to all our matters," said Hugh.
"Then it's not surprising, is it?"
"I guess not," said Hugh. "Can you explain how we solved it all? I'm still quite uncertain."
"No," replied Ben.
"Why not?"
"Because I have no idea. All we did was give everyone's briefcases back."
"That means that we did the first case for free, doesn't it?"
"Yes it does."
"Oh. How nice of us."
"Indeed."
They stared at the wall and began the tedious business of non-existing between cases.
