Keeping An Eye Out: Chapter VII

Ben Hansen

The crow glared up at Hugh.
Hugh responded by leaning closer still.
The crow countered this move by cawing reproachfully.
Hugh's next move was to hesitantly reach out a hand.
The crow managed to avoid this tactic by flying into Hugh's face and
clawing at his eyes.
"Get it off meee!" Hugh screamed as he ran around, bird attached to
his face, bumping into things at random. Ben laughed maniacally.
Half an hour and a lot of band-aids later, Hugh said, "That was
uncalled for" as he peered angrily at the crowd of early-morning
joggers who had begun to gather around them.
"But at least it was amusing," Ben replied. "By the way, while you
were writhing in pain, I had a look at what the crow was pecking at."
He held up a sandwich bag containing what could only be described as a
human eye.
