The Ming Poodle: Chapter XXIV

Hugh Hamilton

Hugh reassessed his realisation and discovered that he in fact wasn't jealous of Ben. WHAT A COMEBACK!!! Anyway.......Hugh yawned and wondered why there was a phone call for him in the middle of the street. He sighed and went back into the office. A few days later, Hugh was quietly snoozing with his legs up on the desk when the doorbell chimed. He jumped to his feet and quickly answered it.
A man armed in a trenchcoat and hat was standing in the rain.
"Yes?" said Hugh.
"It's about Ben"
"Who?"
"You know, your partner in, ahem, solving crime"
"Doesn't ring a bell"
The man in the trenchcoat sighed and fished a photo from his pocket. He handed it to Hugh.
"Him" he said annoyed.
"Nope, I don't recognize him"
The man in the trenchcoat cursed then opened his briefcase. He pulled out a battered VHS tape and handed it to Hugh. Hugh shrugged and led the man to the VCR. The tape was secretly filmed footage of Hugh and Ben in their office. Hugh inspected the footage closely.
"I have no recollection of these events, or whoever that person is" said Hugh finally.
The man in the trenchcoat had a quick migrain and decided to kidnap Hugh as well.
Hugh awoke tied up next to Ben in the usual warehouse sort of place.
"Hi Ben" he said.
"Hi Hugh" said Ben.
"Ah, so now you recognize him" said Mr. Trenchcoat
"Who?" said Hugh.
"Ben"
"Oh him."
"So," said Mr. Trenchcoat, "shall we make a deal?"
"I'll give you $25 if you release us" Hugh offered.
"Deal" Mr. Trenchcoat said, sealing the deal with a handshake.
So Ben and Hugh returned to their office.
