The Ming Poodle: Chapter XVI

Hugh Hamilton

Hugh drowned in a sigh brought on by the thought of researching Nelson again, and sipped his delicious Solo™. He decided eventually to scower the file on Nelson, a decision that was effectively realised twenty minutes later. Then he decided to paraphrase a joke he had made up on a train once to Ben.
"What is the Asian equivelant of St Nick?" he said to Ben.
Ben looked at him unamused.
"Slanta Clause!" Hugh yelled.
"That is relelatively racist" said Ben.
"I know, how satirical"
"You're an idiot" said Ben before adding "excuse me a moment"
He then ran into a side door and Hugh once again heared the sound of pencil on paper. A moment later Ben revealed himself, looked around conspiratorally and sat down.
"No Buttes about it" said Ben strangely after an uncomfortable pause.
Hugh looked confused. Ben stood up with his eyes staring strangely at nothing and walked sideways out of the office. Hugh sipped his Solo™ lovingly.
