Ben and Hugh raced through the door, guided by the barely audible footsteps and shadows dancing in the candle light.
"There they are!" cried a thick German accent.
This was followed by a squadron of uniformed and well-armed men.
"What the heck?" said Hugh as a pair of cold metal handcuffs clasped his wrists.
"You are under arrest," said the owner of the handcuffs.
"You too," he said to Ben as another man gave him similar treatment.
"What is the meaning of this?" protested Ben
"A demonstrative pronoun used to indicate either a person, thing or idea, or one of two or more persons/things, implying or emphasising that which is already mentioned." said the arresting officer.
"Thank you," said Ben unamused. "Always wanted to know that."
"Why are you arresting us!" said Hugh annoyed.
"Because," said the one with the German accent, "you have been framed."
"That'll do it," said Hugh.
"Indeed," agreed the German.
"Oh and what is a German doing in a non-German police force?" asked Hugh.
"Enforcing the law."
"Ah, I should have guessed."
"Where are you taking us?" said Ben
"To a prison camp that was used during World War II."
"I always thought the original was better," commented Hugh lamely.
"Yes, sequels rarely live up to the original," said Ben, in case no got the joke.
