The Ming Poodle: Chapter LVI

"Ah, so our good friend Nelson Craper is dead," thought Hugh, unsure of whether thoughts warrant quotation marks.
"Does that put him in the clear?"
"No," he soon decided. "But it does mean there is another crime to solve. And everyone here is a suspect."
Hugh suffered another blow when he realised that it is going to be awfully hard to get a confession from Craper. Evidence was now the main key. He set off at once to find the train’s doctor.
"When do you think he died," asked Hugh after forking over another $25.
"I'd say between the hours of midnight and 1am," said the doctor.
"Interesting. What about cause of death?"
"Well, the twenty seven stab wounds seem to have done it. But we haven't performed an autopsy, so you can never be sure."
"I see. Thank you doctor, you've been most helpful."
"Have I? Good."
